GOVAS: Stockport Governors Conference

The introduction of ipads into our school has had a very positive effect on the learning going on in the classrooms.  The children and staff have thoroughly embraced the new technology and we are seeing a real impact on pupil progress.

Our staff are now demanding more iPads, they are always in demand.  From reception to year 6 the ipads are being used every day to support learning.

From the initial contact with Alex to the roll out of the devices, the whole process has been quick, efficient and completely tailored to the needs of our school.

The children love working with the iPads ‘blogging and film making are my favourite things’ quote from Y5 pupil.

Alex Findlay provides an excellent service for primary ICT. He has helped me in my own professional development as an ICT leader. He has given me the tools and the confidence to embed the latest technologies into my own practice and to encourage others to try them out too. He has helped me to introduce iPads across the school and we are now in the process of starting a school blog and twitter account as well as planning for the new curriculum. ICT for the 21st century needs someone like Alex. I wouldn’t have been able to develop the skills I have recently without him. Thank you Alex!

Jeni Garratt, Alexandra Park Primary School, Stockport

Alex has been supporting Queens Road through a transitional phase to introduce mobile technology into classroom for two years.

I cannot rate Alex’s knowledge and professional attitude highly enough.

Alex has guided and supported us through the procurement phase and has supported the professional development of all members of staff no matter what their prior knowledge with a patience and consideration enabling staff to work at their own pace and without pressure, as a result our roll out programme has been highly successful.

Alex has made presentations to parents and children and his engaging style enables all stakeholders to understand the purpose of using this new technology and to develop their own skill set. Alex has also presented an e Safety workshop and launched our VLE and website.

Whether hands on with children and Staff in the classroom or leading a Staff Inservice Alex is always approachable, knowledgeable and patient. As a result the new technology is used effectively and efficiently and is enhancing our creative curriculum.

I would recommend Alex to any school without reservation.

Bradshaw Hall Primary School in Cheadle Hulme recently extended its published admissions number from 1.5 to 2 forms of entry. Considerable building work followed, including a new multi-media suite. Alex has been central in  setting up the infra structure and instilling the vision with myself and Governors, whilst providing professional support for staff and children on the iPods and iPads. Bradshaw Hall has always had a forward thinking curriculum; we now have the multi media and back up to support it.

Chris Bagnall, Head Teacher, Bradshaw Hall Primary School

Alex has been a great support to our school! Having worked with Alex previously, and knowing his commitment and drive, I was keen to use his company to introduce and embed the use of iPads in to our whole school curriculum – from Nursery to Year 6. He has provided us with contacts for competitive purchases, enthused staff to get involved and promote the mobile devices to children. He has also been an invaluable source of information, helping create a long term vision to move our Computing Curriculum in to the 21st century. ICT suite -no. Media suite – yes! We are on our journey of transformation and our staff cannot wait to learn more.

Thank you for your hard work and professional dedication over the last five years Alex.
I would highly recommend you!
